Teresa Gelsi, NYS Licensed Optician and Contact Lense Fitter
Teresa is a Dobbs Ferry Native. She attended Alfred college, SUNY Purchase, and Interboro Institute. She is a NYS Licensed Ophthalmic dispenser and contact lens fitter. In 1982, she joined her father, Joseph Gelsi, OD in the family eye care business. Her love of combining technology, medical, and fashion continue to drive her to excellence in fitting people with the best lenses for seeing and the perfect frames for a person’s face and persona. Teresa believes eyewear represents freedom of individual expression. In her spare time, Teresa hikes 14ers in Colorado and enjoys outdoor activities with her husband Stanley.
Marianna Covello, Office Manager and Stylist
Marianna Covello has been a part of Terri Optics since 2008. She has a biology degree from Iona college and an ABO certification from NYS. Marianna is well loved for her sense of style and bubbly personality, which keep people returning year after year for their eyewear needs. Marianna’s discerning eye and sophisticated style guarantees the perfect pairs each time.
Dr. Joseph Muscente, O.D., M.S., FAAO
Dr. Joseph Muscente is a graduate of SUNY College of Optometry in 1994. After completing Optometry school, Dr. Muscente completed a Residency in Hospital Based Optometry / Ocular Disease at the FDR VA Hospital in Montrose, MY.
Dr. Muscente then became a clinical instructor at the SUNY College of Optometry and a staff optometrist at the Brooklyn VA Medical Center / St. Albans VA.
Dr. Muscente is now the Director of Student Externships and an attending doctor at the Richmond University Medical Center in Staten Island, Dept. of Ophthalmology. There, he works closely with ophthalmologists, residents and students providing comprehensive medical eye care to all patients.
in addition, he co authored the book Complex Cases in Clinical Ophthalmology. The book is here at Terri Optics for perusal.
Adding to his list of achievements, Westchester Magazine and NY magazine voted him a top doctor for 2025.
Dr. Susanne Vasquez, O.D.
Susanne Vasquez O.D. graduated in 1995 from SUNY Optometry and has been a part of the Westchester community for over 20 years. Having been licensed in Connecticut, Massachusetts and New York she has had the opportunity to practice in offices that specialize in specialty contact lenses, ocular disease, low vision and vision training. Her husband is a Retinal specialist and her daughter is attending medical school, hoping to keep eye care in the family, her son studying Industrial Psychology. Susanne enjoys Tae Kwon Do(Black Belt), yoga, tennis, zumba, walking, and traveling. She can converse in English, Tagalog and Spanish(basic).
